M Health Fairview Rehab Services (FRS) provides between 25-35 CE courses yearly. FRS strives to offer a variety of courses for our healthcare providers from adult to pediatrics and many specialty areas. These courses are free of charge to all core and casual staff (casual staff must meet the casual staff working requirements). Priority may be given to core benefit eligible employees and those who would benefit from specific course content, all others will be placed in course first come first serve. M Health Fairview Rehab Services Internal CE course offeringsTherapists who have students and requesting their student attend an internal CE event may do so if space is available in course and there is no wait list. Student can be placed on a wait list. CI has to be registered for the course to allow their student to come without a fee. If student would like to attend without CI, they will receive a 50% discount off the fee. Instructors presenting a CE course and have a student that they are requesting attend the course will be allowed despite the wait list (unless CE department is working with an organization that does not allow students or charges an additional fee). External Continuing Education Course InformationAll employees in a core position can make a request to attend an external CE course (Non-FRS course). Final approval of director is required. Your director may make partial approval decisions based on their overall entity budget. Expenses along with registration for course may be requested, but again; depends on directors overall budget and determining the appropriateness of the course. Resignation/Terminated Employees • If employee (Core or Casual) is signed up for a Fairview Sponsored internal CE at the time of resignation/termination, employee may pay out of pocket to attend the course. Payment must be made immediately upon resignation/termination or the employee will be canceled from the class. If a core employee is staying on as a casual for FRS; the casual therapist will not owe for the Fairview sponsored internal CE. The following information applies to employees in a core position as FRS does not fund external course work for casual therapist. • If external course work has been funded by Fairview and employee wishes to attend after resignation/voluntary termination, the employee must reimburse FRS 100% of the costs. • If external course work has been funded by Fairview and employee wishes to cancel out of the course, which is held after resignation/termination, the employee must reimburse FRS 100% of the course and all related cancellation fees and travel expense fees. • If the employee resigns/terminates employment within three months from the last external CE course attended, the employee must reimburse Fairview for 100 percent of the costs incurred. • If the employee resigns/terminates employment between three to six months from the last external CE course, 50 percent of the costs incurred will be reimbursed by the employee. • After six months of attending a course, there will be no obligation to FRS.
