SATISFACTORY COMPLETION: Participants must view the entire course, complete an evaluation, and pass a post-test with a score of 75% (80% for ethics/jurisprudence) or higher to receive a certificate of completion. This two-hour course for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants will guide clinical decision making. This course will help the clinician self-assess personal values, review accepted professional guidelines of behavior, and employ practical tools for resolving daily dilemmas through case studies. From governing boards to the use of technology, ethical decision making is key to continued growth personally and as a profession! HIGHLIGHTS:
Instructor: Dr. Elizabeth G. Harvey, PT, DPT, PCS, MSR, CKTI, CEIM, DHSc Student, brings over 18 years of clinical expertise to the table. She specializes in the treatment of pediatric patients with complex neurologic and orthopedic challenges, including oral motor/facial dysfunction. She has experience across various settings and patient populations including early intervention, outpatient orthopedics, school-based, and sub-acute rehabilitation settings. Dr. Harvey employs manual and multi-sensory techniques via therapeutic tapings, NMES, focal and whole-body vibration, nutritional consultation, and infant/sensory massage to promote neural plasticity. She serves Kinesio University as a Certified Instructor, Curriculum Design Specialist, and a member of the International Research Committee. Dr. Harvey is the owner and director of ABC Therapies LLC in South Carolina, where she is sought after due to her holistic approach to treatment. She holds specialty certifications as an instructor for infant massage, trismus, IASTM, and NMES for orofacial treatment. In addition, she is a Level I Certified Clinical Instructor. She actively participates in international humanitarian efforts through medical camps across the world, including Hawaii, Haiti, Kenya, and Honduras. She is known for being enthusiastic in her approach to education, offering practical feedback, and making sense of difficult patient scenarios. She has authored multiple publications and interdisciplinary curriculum. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Pediatrics Section Member, Neurodevelopmental Treatment Association (NDTA), and Infant Massage USA. Dr. Elizabeth Harvey earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Newberry College, a Master of Rehabilitation Science from the Medical University of South Carolina, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from AT Still University.
